What is a B School?
Feb 24, 2026
A Fatherheart Ministries B School is a one-week, immersive school for those who have already experienced the Father’s love in an A School and long to go deeper. It’s a week set apart to drink from the Father’s heart, have the ‘eyes of your heart’ opened, and learn what it means to actually live as a loved son or daughter—free from striving, rooted in rest, and woven into family.
A B school is a gathering of family. It is a time of Celebration. It is a time to step into the wide open spaces. It is the continuation of the epic adventure with your Heavenly Father!
C.S. Lewis
Do you know C.S. Lewis? He wrote fantastical stories about a world beyond this one, where animals talked and “Adam’s race” ruled as kings and queens. In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Lucy slips into an old wardrobe while playing hide and seek and suddenly steps into Narnia—a wild, beautiful world she never knew existed.
Narnia is Lewis’ picture of wide open spaces. He’s whispering that the Kingdom is far bigger, richer, and more adventurous than we’ve ever dared to believe. As stunning as his imagination is, it’s still only a shadow. Our Father—the same Father who delights in Lewis—cheers over his stories, but I can almost hear Him say, “Well done, my son…now let Me show you My wide open spaces.”
Think of the moment in Job when God begins to question him: “Where were you when…?” It isn’t just a rebuke; it’s a window into the vast, eternal, ever‑exploding reality of who God is and what He has made. His wide open spaces have no edge, no ceiling, no end. Humanity can’t even begin to dream the fullness of what He’s prepared.
Then Psalm 18:19 breaks in: “He brought me out to a wide-open place; He rescued me because He delighted in me.” This is the Father’s heart. Our Father—your Father—wants to lead you out of narrow, cramped, fearful spaces into the fullness of His never‑ending creation. He wants you to experience it, feel it, know it, and explore it with Him—the boundless reality of His world—simply because He delights in you! C’mon!
From information to encounter
In an A School, many people first realize, “The Father really loves me.”
In a B School, that begins to move from a beautiful idea into the place you actually live from.
-
It’s not about learning more content; it’s about the same love sinking deeper into the hidden and forgotten places of the heart.
-
People often describe it less as “a course” and more as a week of being soaked, surprised, and gently undone and put back together with Love.
The inner journey of a B School
Over the week, the Father begins to touch deeper layers—old stories, disappointments, and the quiet, usually unspoken beliefs like “I’m on my own,” “I have to hold everything together,” or “I’ll be loved when I finally get it right.”
-
For some, it feels like the Father slowly taking their face in His hands and saying, “Look at Me; this is who you really are.”
-
For others, it’s like a lifelong knot in the chest finally loosening as they realize they don’t have to strive, perform, or prove anything to be loved.
There are often moments when something is said in a session that lands like an arrow of kindness—suddenly a verse you’ve known for years turns into a personal word, and you realize, “He’s talking to me.”
What the days feel like
The rhythm of a B School is deliberately unhurried and spacious.
-
There’s teaching, but it comes wrapped in stories, testimony, and invitation rather than pressure to “apply the principles.”
-
There’s ministry, but it’s gentle and honoring—more like being caught in a warm current than pushed through a process.
Coffee breaks become holy ground as conversations turn into heart connections.
Meals feel like family gatherings more than conference catering.
Worship often becomes less about “singing well” and more about being still while Love washes over the room.
Shifts in how you see God
One of the biggest changes people experience is in how they instinctively picture God.
-
The distant, slightly disappointed God in the back of their mind begins to be replaced by a Father who is near, delighted, and deeply involved.
-
Jesus becomes not just the One who “fixes your sin problem,” but your older Brother bringing you home to His Father.
-
The Holy Spirit is discovered as the One who constantly pours the Father’s affection into your heart, even when you don’t have the words for it.
It’s common to hear people say things like, “I knew God loved me before, but now I know I am His Son.”
Shifts in how you see yourself
B School is also where many people start to feel the weight of “orphan ways” lifting off: the need to compare, compete, control, or disappear.
-
Identity shifts from “I am what I do, what I own, or what people think of me” to “I am a loved son, a loved daughter.”
-
Success begins to look less like spiritual performance and more like staying close to the Father’s heart in the ordinary moments of life.
You may notice that, by midweek, you’re less preoccupied with “How am I doing spiritually?” and more aware of, “He’s here with me. I belong.”
Experiencing family
Because everyone in the room is journeying deeper into sonship, something very tender and real happens in community.
-
Walls start to come down as people realize they don’t need to impress or defend themselves.
-
Tears and laughter often live side by side—someone shares a painful story, and instead of awkwardness, the room fills with compassion and shared hope.
-
“Strangers” on day one can feel like lifelong siblings by the end of the week.
It’s a taste of what church was always meant to be: not a club of people trying to behave, but a family learning to be loved together.
How it follows you home
The real fruit of a B School often shows up after the week is over.
-
Old triggers still appear, but your first instinct slowly shifts from panic or self‑blame to turning toward the Father and remembering, “I’m not alone in this.”
-
Everyday moments—doing dishes, driving, working, parenting—become places where you sense His nearness and hear His quiet reassurance.
-
Relationships begin to soften as you carry less pressure and more gentleness, because you’re drawing from the love you’re receiving, not from your own limited reserves.
But this is simply the beginning. There is new authority, in Son, resting upon you. Adventure lies ahead. The limits you had put on yourself begin to fade. You ponder the question, "what does it look like to live in a way appropriate to who my Father is?" The wide open spaces are now your playground with your Father...because He Delights in YOU!
